Lasagna
- 1 lb. hot sausage
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
- 1/2 tsp. fennel seed
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 c. parsley
- 1 (2 lb. 3 oz.) can Italian tomatoes
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 3/4 pkg. lasagna noodles
- 1 (15 oz.) carton Ricotta cheese
- 1 jar Parmesan cheese
- Remove sausage from outer casing; chop meat.
- Saute sausage, beef, onion and garlic until brown.
- Add sugar, 1 tablespoon salt, basil leaves, fennel seed, pepper and half of parsley; mix well. Add tomatoes, tomato paste and 1/2 cup of water.
- Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer until thick, 1 1/2 hours.
- Cook lasagna. Drain.
