Baked Cavatelli
- 2 1/2 c. corkscrew pasta, cooked and drained
- 12 oz. Italian sausage links, sliced 1/2 inch
- 3/4 c. chopped green onions
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 (14 oz.) spaghetti sauce with mushrooms
- 2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- Prepare pasta according to directions.
- In large skillet cook sausage until no pink remains.
- Remove from skillet, reserving 1 tablespoon fat.
- Cook green onions and garlic in drippings.
- In 2-quart casserole combine pasta, sausage, onion mixture, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, 1/2 of cheese, Italian seasoning and pepper.
- Toss to combine.
- Bake covered in 375u0b0 oven for 25 minutes.
- Uncover and sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
- Bake additional 10 minutes.
- Makes 6 servings.
