Fruit Cake
- 1 pkg. figs
- 1 pkg. dates
- 1 lb. candied fruit
- 1 box raisins
- 1 1/2 c. black walnuts
- 1 lb. English walnuts
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c. grape juice
- Put fruit in large pan; add raisins and nuts.
- Sift flour over this.
- Add all spices, soda and salt to the flour.
- (If using self-rising flour, omit salt and soda.)
- With hands, mix the flour and spice mixture with the fruit until every piece of fruit is covered.
- Add sugar, oil, molasses, eggs and grape juice; mix well.
