Pineapple Astoria
- 1 can crushed pineapple
- 1 pkg. miniature marshmallows
- 2 pkg. lemon gelatin
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 egg
- dash of salt
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 pt. whipping cream
- 1 can flaked coconut
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- maraschino cherries
- Drain pineapple;
- reserve
- juice.
- Line
- a
- 9 x 13-inch dish with pineapple.
- Top pineapple generously with marshmallows. Dissolve
- gelatin in boiling water and pour over marshmallows. When cool, refrigerate; add water to pineapple juice to make 1 cup.
- Mix
- cornstarch
- with a little of the liquid. Beat egg well.
- Mixtll
- together
- and
- add salt and butter. Cook
- this mixture, stirring constantly until thickened, then cool thoroughly.
- Whiptream
- and
- blend
- 2
- mixtures.
- Top gelatin mixture
- with
- it.top
- this with coconut, nuts and a fewtut uptaraschino
- cherries.
- Refrigerate until serving time.terves 15.
