Do Ahead Brunch Special
- 12 slices white bread
- 3/4 lb. Cheddar or sharp cheese
- 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli
- 2 c. sliced cooked ham
- 10 slightly beaten eggs
- 3/4 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. minced onions
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
- Cut circles (donut) from bread and save holes.
- One circle per slice of bread (use large glass and a shot glass for inside).
- Put bread scraps in bottom of 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Layer cheese over bread, then ham and then broccoli.
- Arrange bread circles over top.
- Use holes to fill in outer spaces.
- Combine remaining ingredients and pour over bread mixture.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight or at least six hours.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 55 minutes. This is an attractive dish; bread circles form a patterned crust when baked.
- At Christmas, tree cut-outs can be used.
