Strawberry Pie
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- few grains salt
- 1 c. crushed strawberries
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1/4 c. water
- baked 9-inch pie crust
- 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1 c. whole strawberries
- 1 c. whipped cream
- 1/4 tsp. almond extract
- 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar
- Combine first 6 ingredients in saucepan.
- Cook until thick and transparent, stirring constantly; cool.
- Spread pie shell with softened cream cheese.
- Stand whole strawberries in cream cheese to completely cover pie shell.
- Spread cooled sauce over strawberries. Cover with whipped cream to which almond extract and powdered sugar have been added.
- Chill.
- Yield:
- 6 servings.
