No Fry Doughnuts

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Add milk, sugar, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, eggs, shortening and 2 cups flour.
  3. Blend 1/2 minute on low speed.
  4. Beat 2 minutes on medium speed.
  5. Stir in remaining flour until smooth.
  6. Cover; let rise in warm place 50 to 60 minutes.
  7. Dough will be soft to handle.
  8. Roll lightly in flour, then roll to 1/2 inch thick.
  9. Cut with doughnut cutter.
  10. Place 2 to 3 inches apart on cooking sheet.
  11. Melt butter or margarine; brush on them.
  12. Cover and let rise until double.
  13. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400u0b0.
  14. Butter again and glaze to choice.
