Gooey Chocolate Caramel Fantasy

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the chocolate wafer crumbs and melted butter.
  2. Press onto the bottom of a nine inch springform pan.
  3. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 minutes.
  4. Cool slightly on a wire rack.
  5. In a heavy medium saucepan, melt caramels in caramel ice cream topping over low heat,stirring often.
  6. Stir in the first 1/4 cup whipping cream.
  7. Remove from heat; stir in nuts.
  8. Spread over crust.
  9. Cool;cover and chill for one hour.
  10. For the topping:.
  11. In a heavy saucepan, melt chocolate.
  12. Remove from heat;stir in remaining whipped cream.
  13. Drizzle or spread over caramel pecan mixture.
  14. Cover and chill for at least one hour.
