Chicken Paprika
- broiler-fryer chicken, cut up
- 1/3 c. flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. paprika
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/3 c. oil
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 2 or 3 chicken bouillon cubes
- 2 1/2 to 3 c. hot water
- 1 c. dairy sour cream
- Thoroughly coat chicken pieces with flour, salt, paprika and pepper.
- Dust any remaining flour over chicken pieces in pan. Brown chicken in oil in heavy skillet about 15 minutes.
- Add onion.
- Dissolve bouillon cubes in hot water; add 1/2 to chicken in pan (add more as needed).
- Cover and simmer over low heat 30 to 40 minutes, or until tender.
- Remove to serving platter.
- Add remaining bouillon and sour cream (add 1/2 cup more sour cream if desired) to pan drippings.
- Stir well.
- Heat, but do not boil. Pour over chicken.
