Sauce A La Bari
- 2 Tbsp. Italian olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic (slice only one, leave the other whole)
- 4 links Italian sweet sausage
- 5 pork bones or pork spareribs
- 1 1/4 lb. ground beef
- 1 c. flavored bread crumbs
- dash of garlic salt
- dash of pepper
- 1 whole egg
- 4 (1 lb. 12 oz.) cans Italian plum tomatoes
- 2 medium size cans tomato puree (approximately 32 oz. each)
- 2 small cans tomato paste (6 oz. each)
- 1/4 c. minced fresh onion
- 1/2 c. grated Romano and/or Parmesan cheese
- 1 c. water
- fresh parsley (fresh Italian preferred)
- 1 tsp. sugar
- Simmer olive oil in large saucepot with 2 cloves garlic and 1 tablespoon onion.
- Meanwhile, brown sausage and pork on both sides. Pour all cans (tomatoes, puree and paste) into the large pot that contains the garlic and onion.
- Add 1 cup water and the sugar to the tomato sauce.
- Add sausage and pork to sauce and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
