Mom'S Famous Macaroni And Cheese

  1. Melt butter in deep frying pan over medium heat.
  2. Stir in flour until completely mixed.
  3. Slowly add milk while stirring, until a white sauce develops.
  4. Add pepper and keep stirring until thick.
  5. Reduce heat to low.
  6. Slowly add sharp Cheddar and Swiss slices, stirring until cheese mixes with sauce.
  7. Bring 2 quarts water to a rolling boil.
  8. Add macaroni, stirring occasionally until tender.
  9. Drain noodles and return to pot.
  10. Add cheese mixture and stir thoroughly.
  11. Pour macaroni and cheese into large 9 1/2 x 13-inch baking dish.
  12. Cover macaroni and cheese with a thin layer of Ritz cracker crumbs.
  13. Bake at 350u0b0 for 40 minutes.
