Carmelitas
- 1 3/4 c. Quaker Quick oats
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 3/4 c. butter flavor Crisco, melted
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 c. caramel topping
- 1/4 c. flour
- Combine first 7 ingredients.
- Reserve 1 cup.
- Press remaining mixture onto bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown.
- Cool 10 minutes.
- Top with nuts and chocolate pieces.
- Mix caramel topping and 1/4 cup flour until smooth.
- Drizzle over chocolate pieces to within 1/4-inch of edges.
- Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool completely.
