Meat-Za Pie
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/4 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1/3 c. catsup or tomato paste
- 1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained and chopped
- 4 slices American cheese, cut in strips
- 1/2 tsp. oregano, crumbled
- 2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
- Place beef, salt, garlic salt, onion and bread crumbs in a 9-inch pan.
- Add evaporated milk and mix together with a fork. Spread mixture evenly over the bottom of pan, raising a rim about a half-inch high around edge.
- Spread catsup or tomato paste over meat to the rim.
- Arrange drained mushrooms on catsup.
- Place cheese strips in crisscross pattern over top.
- Sprinkle with oregano.
- Sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400u0b0 for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and lightly browned.
- Cut in wedges.
