Pie Apple Sponge Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. In a large mixer bowl, beat oil, molasses and egg together well.
  3. Add yogurt and mix well.
  4. Sift dry ingredients together.
  5. Add all at once to wet ingredients. Mix lightly; extra beating will toughen the cake.
  6. Turn batter into a nonstick 9-inch square pan.
  7. Bake 25 minutes or until center of cake springs back when touched lightly with fingertip. Cool briefly in pan on rack.
  8. Serve warm with Lemon Syrup.
