Pumpkin Cookies
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 can pumpkin
- 2 c. raisins
- 1 c. nuts, chopped
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 cube oleo
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 3/4 tsp. maple flavoring
- a little milk
- Soak raisins in boiling water until soft.
- Drain.
- Cream shortening and sugars.
- Add pumpkin and vanilla.
- Mix well. Combine flour, salt, soda, baking powder and cinnamon.
- Add gradually to pumpkin mixture.
- Add raisins and nuts.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls on a baking sheet.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 8 to 10 minutes. Combine oleo, powdered sugar, maple flavoring and milk.
- Ice cookies while they are warm.
