Sweet-Sour Turkey Breast
- 1/2 lb. turkey breast, cubed
- soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. m.s.g. (Accent, if desired)
- 2 to 3 carrots, sliced
- 1 can pineapple chunks and juice
- 1 green pepper
- 1 or 2 bouillon cubes
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. powdered ginger or 1-inch ginger root, sliced
- Put turkey breast into small bowl.
- Add soy sauce to moisten, ginger, cornstarch and m.s.g.
- Marinate about 1/2 hour.
- Brown turkey in a little oil.
- Remove from pan.
- Spoon off excess oil. Into pan, add brown sugar, vinegar, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, juice from pineapple and ginger root.
- Bring to boil.
- Turn down heat and simmer a minute or so.
- Add cornstarch which has been dissolved in a little cold water.
- Add sliced green pepper, carrots and browned meat.
- Cook a couple of minutes.
- Add pineapple chunks and heat through.
- Garnish with chopped green onions.
- Serve over rice.
