Easy Chow Mein
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 (12 oz.) can Spam, cubed
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 2 c. diced celery
- 3/4 c. water
- 2 1/2 c. bean sprouts, drained
- 1/3 c. cold water
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 tsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. frozen peas (optional)
- 1 medium can chow mein noodles
- 1 large can pork and beans
- 1 can green lima beans
- 1 can red kidney beans
- 1 lb. lean ground beef, browned
- 1 lb. lean bacon, cooked and minced
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. onion, minced
- 2 tsp. prepared mustard or 1 tsp. dry
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- Mix all ingredients and bake for approximately 1 1/2 hours.
