Fruit Cake
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 c. sugar
- 4 sticks butter
- 12 eggs
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. pure vanilla
- 6 c. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 lb. candied cherries, red and green
- 1 lb. pecans
- 1 lb. almonds
- 1/2 lb. candied pineapple
- 1 to 3 pkg. frozen coconut
- 1 box white raisins
- Cream butter until fluffy.
- Add sugar, one cup at a time, add 12 eggs, one at a time, cream well after each addition.
- Add baking powder and vanilla.
- Add 5 cups of flour, one at a time, add milk and beat well.
- Save 1 cup flour for fruit mixture.
- Chop fruit and put into large bowl, add remaining 1 cup flour, mix well.
- Pour batter over this mixture.
- Line pans with foil and grease.
- Use 2 tube pans or 1 tube pan and small pan.
- Bake at 250u0b0 for 3 hours.
