Apple Dumplings

  1. Divide the pie crust into 4 equal pieces.
  2. Place 1 apple onto dough and fill apple cavity with a bit of sugar and dash cinnamon to taste and pat of butter.
  3. Wrap filled apple with dough and pinch closed at top.
  4. Prepare remaining apples and place in baking dish.
  5. On bottom of dish add 3/4 c. sugar, pat butter and 1/4 - 1/2 c. boiling water.
  6. Bake until crust is done.
  7. Combine 1 1/2 c. sugar, 3 Tbsp. flour and 1 1/2 c. milk in pan, stirring constantly until thickened, adding vanilla at the end.
  8. Drizzle 'goop' over the top of each apple at serving time.
  9. Serves 4.
