Fresh Salsa
- 1 fresh green chili (may substitute 1 small can chopped chilies)
- 2 fresh ripe tomatoes, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 green onions (tops and bulbs), chopped
- 1/2 tsp. fresh or dried cilantro
- 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 Tbsp. tomato sauce or catsup
- 1 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
- 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- If using fresh chili, wash green chili but do not cut it.
- Place whole chili on baking sheet and roast for about 15 minutes or until chili begins to soften.
- Remove from oven, cool and slice the chili.
- Discard the seeds.
- Combine all the ingredients in a food processor or blender.
- Process or blend just until all ingredients are finely chopped.
- Do not puree. Chill and serve.
