Debbie Lackey'S Chocolate Chip Cookies At Their Best
- 1 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. softened margarine or butter
- 1 1/3 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. rolled oats
- 3 c. flour
- 12 oz. chocolate chips
- 1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
- Beat first 4 ingredients with electric mixer.
- Add next 3 ingredients.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Then add next 5 ingredients.
- Beat well.
- Stir in chips and nuts.
- Drop a scant 1/4 cup of dough on lightly greased cookie sheets.
- Space 3-inches apart.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 16 to 18 minutes.
- Makes about 3 dozen large cookies. These are the best; our Cub Scouts love them!
