Lemon Bread(Breakfast)
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. grated lemon rind
- Combine milk, juice and thyme.
- Bring to boil and cool.
- Cream in large mixer bowl the butter.
- Add sugar and beat well.
- Then eggs, one at a time, beating well.
- Sift dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and salt) together.
- Add alternately with milk mixture to the butter and sugar mixture, beginning and ending with flour.
- Add the lemon rind and stir through well.
- Grease and flour a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
- Pour batter into pan and bake 50 minutes at 325u0b0.
- Test with a wooden toothpick for doneness.
- If desired, you can glaze it or just dust with powdered sugar.
