Barbecued Hamburg Stacks

  1. Combine ground beef, 1/2 teaspoon of salt and pepper.
  2. Shape into 10 equal meat patties.
  3. Combine bread cubes with milk, egg, shortening, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, marjoram and onion.
  4. Shape into 5 bread patties.
  5. Place 5 meat patties in a shallow baking dish.
  6. Top each with a bread patty.
  7. Place another meat patty on top of the bread.
  8. Pour barbecue sauce over hamburg stacks.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 325u0b0 for 30 minutes, basting often with sauce.
