Cheese Sticks
- 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- cayenne (optional)
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. sharp cheese, grated
- 1/8 tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. water, cold
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. paprika
- Sift dry ingredients
- together;
- cut
- in margarine with pastry blender.
- Stir
- in cheese.
- Add Tabasco sauce to water and sprinkle, 1 tablespoon at a time, over ingredients, gently mixing and
- pressing
- with
- fork
- until dough holds together. Combine flour
- andtaprika.
- Sprinkle
- ontong sheet of wax paper. Place
- dough
- on
- paper,
- roll into rectangle, turn to cover other
- side
- with paprika mixture.tut in half lengthwise, then cut crosswise in 3/4-inch strips.
- Twist each strip 2 or 3 times; place on ungreased baking sheet.
- Press on ends. Bake at 450u0b0 about 10 minutes or until crisp.
- Makes about 20.
