Saucy Prune Cake

  1. Combine eggs, oil and sugar in large mixer bowl; mix well.
  2. Mix buttermilk and soda in cup.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves into bowl.
  4. Stir in pecans.
  5. Add flour mixture to egg mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Mix in prunes, prune juice and vanilla.
  7. Spoon into greased tube pan.
  8. Bake at 325u0b0 for 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
  9. Invert onto serving plate.
  10. Pour sauce over cake immediately.
  11. Yield:
  12. 16 servings.
