The Best Apple Pudding

  1. Slice peeled apples into a greased 8x8 baking dish; sprinkle with cinnamon.
  2. Cream shortening, sugar and egg together; then add milk alternately with dry ingredients.
  3. Add vanilla.
  4. Spread over apples.
  5. Combine all sauce ingredients and boil for 5 minutes.
  6. Pour over batter and bake 35- 45 minutes at 350.
