Stir-Fried Steak
- 2 lb. sirloin steak
- 1/2 c. soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. sherry
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 bunch fresh broccoli
- 1/2 c. peanut oil
- 1 medium size green pepper, sliced into thin strips
- 2 medium onions, thinly sliced and separated into rings
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 c. water
- hot cooked rice
- Partially freeze steak; slice across grain into 3 x 1/4-inch strips.
- Set aside.
- Combine soy sauce, sherry and garlic; mix well.
- Add steak and marinate 30 minutes.
- Trim off large outer leaves of broccoli and remove tough ends of stalks.
- Wash broccoli thoroughly; cut stalks diagonally into 1-inch pieces.
- If stalks are more than 1 inch in diameter, cut in halves lengthwise. Separate flowerets into small pieces.
