Green Beans Oriental
- 3 cans cut green beans
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/3 c. flour
- 2 c. milk
- 3/4 c. shredded sharp Cheese
- 1/8 tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 2 tsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. coarse ground pepper
- 1 tsp. Accent
- 1 (8 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
- 1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
- 1/3 c. sliced almonds
- Drain beans.
- Saute onion in butter until soft.
- Add flour and blend.
- Slowly add milk and cheese; cook until smooth and thick, stirring constantly.
- Add seasonings.
- Stir in cooked or canned beans, mushrooms and chestnuts.
- Sprinkle almonds over top and bake, uncovered, at 375u0b0 until bubbly.
- Makes 8 to 10 servings. This can be made the day before, but don't put almonds on until you put it into the oven.
