Tallareni
- 2 lb. ground beef (preferably chuck)
- 2 pods garlic, chopped fine
- 5 medium onions, chopped fine
- 4 bell peppers, chopped fine
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 2 (8 oz.) cans Spanish-style tomato sauce
- 1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes
- 1 can whole corn, drained
- 1 can pitted black olives, chopped
- 1 (12 oz.) bag short, flat egg noodles, boiled
- 1 lb. grated Cheddar cheese
- Using a big pot, cook the beef, garlic, onions and bell peppers
- in a small amount of olive oil for 10 minutes.
- (Beef will create additional fat.)
- Add the chili powder, tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook for 15 minutes.
- Add the corn, olives and the boiled egg noodles. Toss ingredients together well.
- Pour into 2 flat baking dishes (9 x 13-inch).
- Top with the grated cheese.
- Bake in a 350u0b0 oven until cheese is slightly brown on top (about 35 to 40 minutes).
- Serves 14 to 15.
