Frosted Apple-Raisin Pie
- 1 double pie crust
- 6 c. pared, sliced apples
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 2/3 c. confectioners sugar
- 1 Tbsp. milk
- Preheat oven to 450u0b0.
- Combine apples, raisins, sugars, flour, cinnamon and lemon rind in mixing bowl.
- Arrange in closely packed layers in a 9-inch pastry lined pie plate.
- Sprinkle lemon juice over apples.
- Dot with butter.
- Place top crust over filling. Fold edge under bottom crust, pressing to seal.
- Flute to make standing edge.
- Cut slits for steam to escape.
- Bake at 450u0b0 for 10 minutes, then at 375u0b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
