Caramel Layer Squares

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan. Combine in heavy saucepan first 2 ingredients.
  3. Cook over low heat stirring constantly until caramels are melted.
  4. Keep warm. Combine in large bowl remaining ingredients except chocolate chips.
  5. By hand stir until dough holds together.
  6. Press 1/2 dough into pan.
  7. Bake for 6 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle chocolate chips and caramel mixture over cooked dough.
  9. Then sprinkle rest of dough over that.
  10. Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
  11. Cool thoroughly.
  12. Makes 3 dozen.
