Anisette Cookies

  1. Put all dry ingredients into a large bowl. Add stick of butter.
  2. Into a smaller bowl, put eggs, anise flavor and anise seeds.
  3. Beat well.
  4. Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients. Add the egg mixture; mix all together.
  5. Add a small amount of flour, if necessary, to keep dough from being too sticky.
  6. Flour board.
  7. Turn dough out and pat with hand to about 1/2-inch thickness.
  8. Cut into three 3-inch strips and put onto baking sheet.
  9. Bake until golden brown in 350u0b0 oven.
  10. Remove from oven and cut into diagonal strips about 1-inch wide. Return to sheet, placing them first on one side for approximately 5 minutes, then turning to the other for 5 minutes, toasting them until golden.
  11. Watch carefully.
  12. Will keep several weeks if covered tightly.
