Chocolate Almond Truffles

  1. In a small, heavy saucepan, melt together the chocolate and butter, stirring occasionally until melted.
  2. Remove from heat. Stir together the powdered sugar and 2/3 cup ground almonds.
  3. Stir into the chocolate mixture along with the milk or liqueur.
  4. Mix well until blended.
  5. Cover and chill mixture until firm, about 1 to 2 hours.
  6. Use a round teaspoonful of mixture for candy.
  7. Mold the chocolate mixture around a whole almond to form a ball.
  8. If desired, roll balls in chocolate, cocoa powder or ground almonds to coat.
  9. Put candy in foil.
  10. Put in freezer 30 minutes.
