Lemon Crinkles

  1. Beat margarine with 3/4 cup of sugar until fluffy at high speed.
  2. Beat in egg, vanilla, lemon extract and milk.
  3. Sift in flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda, a little at a time, until blended.
  4. Chill dough until firm.
  5. Form into marble-sized balls (about 1 teaspoon each).
  6. Coat balls by rolling in a mixture of remaining 1/2 cup sugar and lemon rind.
  7. Carefully place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake in moderate oven (350u0b0) for 8 minutes or until tops are crackled and edges lightly browned.
  9. Cool completely on wire racks.
  10. Makes about 8 dozen.
