Lawn Party Sandwiches

  1. Heat the butter in a microwave-safe dish for 1-2 min. or until melted.
  2. Stir in the onion, poppy seeds and mustard.
  3. Chill, covered for 8 - 10 hours.
  4. Remove the poppy seed mixture from the refrigerator 1 hour before needed to prepare the recipe.
  5. Split each pkg. of rolls horizontally with a serrated knife into 2 layers, leaving the bottom layer in the pan.
  6. Spread the cut sides or the rolls with the poppy seed mixture.
  7. Layer the ham and cheese on the bottom layer of rolls.
  8. Top with remaining roll layer.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 min.
  10. For variety, add chopped red bell pepper when assembling sandwiches.
  11. May be prepared in advance and frozen unbaked.
  12. Bake the frozen rolls at 350 degrees until heated through.
  13. These are great!
