Seven-Layer Casserole
- 1 c. uncooked real rice
- 12 oz. can whole kernel corn
- 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
- 1 lb. browned ground beef, drained
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 lb. bacon, cut into small pieces and browned
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. water
- Layer ingredients in a 3-quart baking dish in this order: rice, corn and its liquid, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon pepper, 1 can tomato sauce, 1/2 cup water, onion, ground beef, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon pepper, 1 can tomato sauce and 1/4 cup water. Cover with bacon.
- Cover casserole and bake at 350u0b0 for 1 hour. Uncover and continue to bake for 10 to 20 minutes or until the bacon is crisp.
