Sally'S Fresh Peach Berry Cobbler

  1. Preheat oven to 375u0b0F.
  2. To make filling:
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, brown sugar, cornstarch, and water. Mix well, cooking over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly.
  4. Add lemon juice, blueberries, and peaches. Mix to combine, then turn into a 2 quart baking dish.
  5. To make topping:
  6. In a mixing bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and butter. Beat until smooth and spoon over fruit.
  7. Sprinkle top with a remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 tsp nutmeg.
  8. Bake 40-45 minutes, until browned and bubbly. Serve as is, or with vanilla ice cream.
  9. **Note - if using canned or frozen berries or peaches, if they are pre-sweetened, decrease the sugar in the filling!
