Low-Fat Spaghetti
- 1 lb. lean ground turkey or chicken
- 1 large onion, chopped (1 c.)
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped (3/4 c.)
- 2 (15 oz.) cans low sodium tomato sauce
- 2 (4 1/2 oz.) jars sliced mushrooms, drained
- 1 (6 oz.) can Italian style tomato paste
- 2 tsp. dried Italian seasoning, crushed
- 2 tsp. fennel seed, crushed
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper (optional)
- 12 oz. spaghetti
- Spray a 3-quart saucepan with nonstick spray.
- Add the ground turkey or chicken, onion and green pepper.
- Cook and stir over medium heat until meat is no longer pink and veggies are tender. Drain.
