Cocoa Powder Brownies
- 1 1/8 cups unsalted butter
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- preheat oven to 350.
- Line a 9 x 13 baking pan with parchment paper, and spray with cooking spray.
- Melt the butter and sugar in a saucepan over low heat. Let it cool slightly then transfer to a mixing bowl.
- Add the vanilla and then gradually add the eggs while mixing thoroughly.
- Sift the dry ingredients together then add to the butter and egg mixture stirring in gently only until all ingredients are wet.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
- Pour batter into the prepared pan, and bake for about 35 minutes.
- Don't over bake!
- Let cool in the pan then turn out, and remove the parchment paper.
- Cut into 12 pieces.
