Chocolate Intrigue(Pound Cake With Chocolate Center)
- 3 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 c. chocolate syrup
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. peppermint extract
- Mix dry ingredients together.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition.
- Add milk and vanilla.
- Mix.
- Alternate mixing wet and dry ingredients, blending well after each addition.
- Pour 2/3 of batter into a 10-inch tube pan, greased on the bottom.
- Add to the remaining batter the chocolate syrup, soda and mint extract. Mix well and pour over white batter.
- Do not mix together! Bake at 350u0b0 for 65 to 70 minutes.
- Cool in the pan.
