Oma'S (Grandma'S) Bread Pudding

  1. Scald milk.
  2. Pour over bread crumbs and eggs.
  3. Add butter, sugar, raisins, fruit, slivered almonds and spices.
  4. Pour into well-buttered ovenproof dish (1 1/2-quart).
  5. Set in hot water about 1 to 1 1/2 inches deep; bake at 350u0b0 for about 1 hour.
  6. (Try center; should come out dry.)
  7. Dot with butter and cinnamon-sugar if desired.
  8. Serve hot or cold with whipped cream or wine sauce (optional).
