Sour Cream Tortilla Casserole
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 2 Tbsp. salad oil
- 3 c. canned tomatoes
- 1 pkg. taco mix
- 2 Tbsp. chopped jalapeno or green chilies
- 1 large pkg. Doritos or Fritos
- 1/2 c. salad oil
- 3/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 lb. Monterey Jack cheese, grated
- 2 c. sour cream
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- Saute 1/2 cup onions in 2 tablespoons oil until tender.
- Add tomatoes, taco mix and peppers.
- Simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
- Set aside to cool.
- Pour about 1/2 cup of sauce in bottom of 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking dish and spread to cover.
- Arrange a layer of Doritos over sauce.
- Top with 1/3 of sauce, onions and cheese. Repeat procedure twice, making 3 layers of Doritos.
- Combine sour cream and seasoned salt.
- Spread over cheese to edge of dish. Bake at 325u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
- To serve, cut into 10 or 12 squares.
