Firecracker Barbecue Sauce
- 1/2 c. cider vinegar
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. spicy brown mustard
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 thick lemon slices
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 c. ketchup
- 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tsp. hot red pepper sauce
- Combine first 10 ingredients in small saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over moderately high heat.
- Reduce heat to low.
- Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and discard lemon slices.
- Stir in remaining ingredients. Cool to room temperature.
- Can be refrigerated or placed in freezer in a tightly covered container.
