Baked (Or Fried) Apple Pies

  1. Cook apples until done or tender.
  2. Mash with a potato masher, add sugar and mix well.
  3. Continue to cook until no longer soupy, stirring often.
  4. Make a nice rich pastry by mixing flour, Crisco and milk.
  5. Roll out dough into balls half the size of a biscuit. On a floured piece of wax paper, roll each ball into a thin circle.
  6. Dip a teaspoon into water and moisten edges of circle to make them stick together.
  7. Place a heaping tablespoon of fruit on one half of the circle of dough.
  8. Fold the other half of circle over the fruit and seal with a fork dipped in flour.
  9. Place the pie on a well-greased bread pan.
  10. Cook in a 400u0b0 oven until brown on bottom.
  11. Brush a teaspoon of corn oil on each pie and turn over and brown on the other side.
  12. When done, brush the tops with melted margarine or corn oil.
