Company Sausage Casserole
- 1 lb. bulk pork sausage
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 (10 3/4 oz.) cans mushroom soup
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 2 oz. jar diced pimento
- 4 oz. can sliced mushrooms, drained
- 8 oz. can sliced water chestnuts, drained
- 2/3 c. uncooked long grain rice
- Cook sausage in a large skillet until browned; add onion and cook with sausage until clear, stirring well and drain.
- In large bowl, combine all other ingredients; add sausage and onion, mix well.
- Pour into a sprayed 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Cover and bake at 350u0b0 for 30 minutes.
- Uncover; stir and bake an additional 30 minutes.
- Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
- If desired, garnish with mushrooms and bell pepper strips.
- Yield:
- 10 to 12 servings.
