Gran'S ' Flop Proof' Chocolate Cake

  1. Line a 20 cm diameter cake tin with wax paper.
  2. Heat oven to 180u0b0C or 350u0b0F while preparing mixture.
  3. Sift together sugar, flour, salt, cocoa.
  4. Stir to mix.
  5. Add vanilla essence to egg yolks.
  6. Stir together.
  7. Add baking powder to egg whites.
  8. Beat well to a froth.
  9. Add boiling water to oil and stir vigorously into dry ingredients.
  10. Add in egg yolk mixture and stir.
  11. Fold in egg white mixture.
  12. Bake at 180u0b0C (350u0b0F) for approximately 30 minutes.
  13. For icing:
  14. Once cake has cooled down, mix ingredients and ice cake.
