Crockpot Ground Beef Chili
- 3 lbs. ground beef
- 1 large onion
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped
- 2 16 oz. cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 29 oz. can tomato puree
- 1 16 oz. jar salsa
- 1 14 1/2 oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 10 1/2 oz. condensed beef broth, undiluted
- 1-2 cups of water
- 6 tbl. chili powder or to taste
- 2 tbl. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbl. dried basil
- 2 tsp. ground cumin
- 2 tsps. steak sauce
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. coarsely ground pepper
- In a large frying pan, cook meat, onion, and green pepper until meat is not pink. Put into a Pam-sprayed 6 quart crockpot. Combine tomato puree, salsa, tomatoes, broth, and water. Add seasonings to liquid and mix. Mix into meat mixture in crockpot. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours. Add kidney beans last twenty minutes of cook time.
