Microwave Apple Butter

  1. In 3-quart microwave-safe casserole, combine apples and cider (or apple juice).
  2. Microwave on High for 12 to 15 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring twice during cooking.
  3. In food processor bowl with metal blade or blender container, process apple mixture until smooth.
  4. Return to casserole.
  5. Add sugar, cinnamon, cloves and allspice; blend well.
  6. Microwave on High for 25 to 35 minutes or until thickened and dark brown, stirring once halfway through cooking.
  7. (Mixture will thicken as it cools.)
  8. Spoon into 4 clean hot 8-ounce jars; screw lids on tightly.
  9. Store in refrigerator up to 3 weeks or in freezer up to 3 months.
  10. Makes 4 cups.
