Chicken Chow Mein

  1. Melt butter or vegetable oil in hot skillet.
  2. Add meat and stir.
  3. Sear quickly (without browning or burning).
  4. Add onions and fry for 5 minutes.
  5. Add celery, salt, pepper and hot water.
  6. Cover and cook 5 minutes.
  7. Add drained bean sprouts.
  8. Mix thoroughly. Heat to boiling point.
  9. Add flavoring and thickening ingredients. Stir lightly and cook 5 minutes.
  10. Serve piping hot with chow mein noodles or cooked rice.
  11. Serves 2.
