Breakfast Rolls
- 1 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. oleo, melted
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 egg
- 4 c. flour
- 1 pkg. yeast
- Scald milk.
- Add sugar, salt and oleo.
- Cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water.
- Add to milk and sugar mixture. Beat egg and add to the same mixture.
- Add 2 cups flour and beat until smooth.
- Stir in 2 more cups flour; knead until it is a smooth ball.
- Place in an oiled bowl and let set in a warm place until rolls rise to double in size.
- Knead down.
- Roll out to 1/3-inch thick on a floured surface.
- Spread soft layer of margarine.
- Sprinkle 1 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon over the top.
- Roll up and pinch the seam together.
- Cut and lay 1-inch apart on a cookie sheet.
- Let rise until double in size and bake at 375u0b0 until brown.
- Glaze with powdered sugar glaze, if desired.
